i heart huntington!!!

well it looks like i have quite a bit of catching up to do. i can't believe that meg has stayed on top of blogging all the way from spain... way to go girl!!!
where do i start?
las vegas: the journey started off right. first stop the dirty dirty. man i love this place, i feel like somewhat of a regular and am hoping for a street to be named after me. **i do have to mention that on the drive down i felt like i was traveling with em and alex again. i thought they were bad having to stop multiple times on the way to cali, but the boys were even worse. we had to stop in lehi, yes a mere 30 minutes south on our journey, to buy a dvd player because the one in the van broke. these are all 24 year old men that cannot make it on a road trip without movies, pathetic!!! once back on the road matt and i thought it was a great idea to find the nearest overpass and moon the van full of guys. this was a success and not only did they honk but about 5 other trucks and families traveling down I-15 got a nice shot of my ass. once in vegas all ten of us, me being the only girl, checked into the fabulous excalibur resort and casino, have i mentioned that i love las vegas. this was quite an experience and the boys were not shy about anything. i think next time i will room with the girls. 3 to a bed and several on the floor, i opted for the second night to stay in the van which was conveniently parked the the lot behind the hotel. this was a lifetime goal of mine and worth every minute of it.
back on the road: i haven't mentioned the mode of transportation that i was using yet. yes yes, i bet you never thought it could make it, the 1989 honda, blue lightening, made it. the whole journey of 700+ miles, loaded with all my belongings, a bike, thanks matt, and no air conditioner. wow, i bet you wish the luxury of traveling with me. the car did great, 36 miles to the gallon and me singing show tunes the whole way!!!
welcome to cali: betsy one of the kindest most generous ladies i know was nice enough to let me join her for the summer. i don't think she realized that i was showing up with the car packed and a van of 9 boys behind me. dave was supposed to clear the stay but forgot to mention that he had "some" friends with him. we piled out of the car and another car with 3 more girls showed up. i think the roomie hated me from day one.
g.n.o. venice beach style the first night in huntington all the girls headed up to venice beach to hit up the best drum circle on the west coast. pictures to come, they will do all the explaining.
cruisin' the cruise was great. 120 good friends, dance parties, all you can food 24 hours a day, "very" small showers, haha, 4wheelin' on the beach, losing my phone in mexico and making some little mexican kid's day, 4wheelin on the mexican freeway and having a semitruck merge on behind, mexican sunglasses, golf carts in catalina, beach volleyball, and coconut cookies and pizza everynight at 1 am.
back to home sweet home: the best part of the cruise ending was the thought that i didn't have to get in a car and drive 12 hours back to utah. all the boys and girls stayed the weekend and then left after much hesitation. it was sad to say goodbye but they all promised a visit back down and i promised them a place to stay. don't tell the roomies, they will definitely say no this time.
a day in the life of a OC resident: well now my days are consisting of waking up to the sound of the beach, laying around, long walks/beach cruise rides/trying to run/ on the the beach. laying out on the sun deck was one of the hardest parts of my day, it was just a lot of work. taco night and street fairs are filling up the evenings and dance parties, beach bonfires and naked swims are filling up the nights. maybe some mischievous pranks as well. my roomies are the best. we are going to have the time of our lives. if only i could kill the cat that is residing at 508 goldenwest, that is our house. i did start work but only worked for 4 hours and have a total of 8 scheduled for the entire week. the laundromat was a new experience but it was really not that bad cause i could see the waves while waiting. this is the best place i could imagine spending my summer. if only a sprinkles cupcake shop opened next door, currently we have to take the pch 20 minutes into newport to taste the deliciousness of a coconut lemon cupcake. **sorry meg they are much better than yours.

well i think i have covered everything that has been going on. i promise to keep updating this amazing little blog and sharing my hard overwhelming miserable days with all you loyal readers.
and if anyone is looking for a road trip or vacation spot i highly recommend the hilton on the beach in huntington, haha, you can stay with me, we have a sun deck and a blow up mattress calling your name, but just watch out for the roomies, haha, no they are great and love visitors too!!!
peace
