We left Salt Lake at 1130 Thursday, May 8th and flew into Madrid. We arrived around 9 am since they are eight hours ahead of us. This meant we had a few hours to kill until we could check into the hotel and clean up etc. We took a bus tour of the city, than wandered around the hotel. We were located near the Atocha Station, and a few minutes from plaza Madrid (i think it was plaza madrid)...big, open, famous. This is a picture of the palace in Madrid. The city was nice, but not my favorite. It took a few days to get over my jet lag, but I eventually did it (six days later). We were in Madrid for three nights and spent most of our days on side trips to cities nearby. We went to tapas bars and danced the night away at the Mona Lisa one evening (morning).

Josh and Ian appreciating the main square in front of the cathedral (amazing cathedral, I recommend visiting it sometime during life).
The street in Toledo, covered by tapestry's to protect people from rain and sun.
Okay, this is a good start, and I promise more is coming!
